If you’re from my “era”, when you read or hear the title of this article, you’re likely thinking of the western cowboy movies or John Wayne. You know, I actually think I’ve been subtly inspired, because I’ve been flying in and out of John Wayne airport a lot lately – but I digress.
How does this relate to your business? Well, what’s valuable about “saddling up with a partner” is in how vital it is to your marketing strategy as a small business owner, solopreneur or entrepreneur. You can just do so much more with a partner.
This doesn’t mean that you have to “create a business” with them or give them half of your profits! I know that vision stops a lot of business owner’s cold. And this can be such a lucrative opportunity for you. What this really means is that you are truly partners in supporting each other’s businesses. And depending on how YOU want to structure it, the “split” could be handled in any number of ways! Read on to learn 3 simple ways to make a “partnership” work toward accelerating your marketing and expanding your business!
Tip #1 – Share your “partner” with your list of subscribers
When you have a business relationship with someone who you believe in and you have personally experienced their product or service; you may want to share it with others. If you think your list of subscribers would benefit from knowing about it, give this partner “air time” in your newsletter, ezine or blog. You can arrange with your partner to share your solutions with your respective audiences this way. It’s a no cost way of partnering to advance both of your businesses for greater visibility to more prospects and clients.
Tip #2 – Interview them during a no cost teleseminar
You can interview EACH OTHER for your separate lists of subscribers. By virtue of your partnership, you will know how to bring out the best in each other and ensuring that you both help others benefit from your solutions. Use free teleconferencing tools like Freeconferencecall.com or Freeconferencecalling.com to host and record your calls for free! Then send the recordings to your respective email lists to provide them with the valuable solutions you each offer.
Tip #3 – Speak at each others workshops/seminars
One of the best ways to share your knowledge with prospects and clients is during a live workshop or seminar. Depending on how long your event is, i.e., half day, full day or a few days, you may find it a relief and valuable to carve out an hour for your partner to present their solution. And the result will be financially beneficial to you both! It goes without saying, NOT EVERYONE can be a partner for your business. You want to really get to know them, like them and trust them before you bring out the horses (or opportunities). Remember, your business and reputation will be linked with this partner; so be sure you would be comfortable and benefit from that connection.
When you connect with the right partner, you will be able to reach more prospects and clients than you would otherwise. Then they get to know the powerful solutions you both offer and that makes for a sweet and happy ending.
Just like the end of the old Westerns, when they would saddle up and ride off into the sunset – together.
